New Orleans: the Big Easy. The City That Never Sleeps…
I had been with Ian and Jordan years ago on a cross country road trip for one night only. I ate three dinners and drank $3 beers and didn’t get home until 4 in the morning, after ending the night at Café Du Monde. The following day, a complete stranger taught us how to eat crawfish at Cajun Seafood (no one’s a stranger in NOLA really), and of course I vowed to come back.
Twelve years later, I returned for my Bachelor Party to find a city I did not at all recognize. The skies were gray and the streets were empty – at least emptier than I remembered. Granted we went in early May and didn’t see that much of it. But from all accounts, the city has changed.
Then again, what place hasn’t?
New Orleans: Top 10 under $25
We did go to fancy restaurants in but we also ate other stuff. These are some of the best things I had in NOLA.
Emeril’s
We made it to NOLA’s most famous restaurant. How BAM can it really be?
Commander’s Palace
Now this is a Restaurant.
Dooky Chase
“You best start believing in ghost stories, Ms. Turner…”
Saint-Germain
Saint-Germain is a Michelin-starred restaurant located in Bywater. Is it a sign of gentrification? When it comes to NOLA, what does that mean anyway?
